Desmond Elliot Returns to Film Set After Losing APC Primary Election

Veteran Nollywood actor, filmmaker, and director Desmond Elliot has enthusiastically gone back to his first love after losing his APC primary bid in Lagos State.
The actor lost the Surulere Constituency I ticket to Barakat Odunuga-Bakare earlier this year.
Photos of Elliot on location, sporting plaited cornrows decorated with cowries, have gone viral online.
Elliot appears to be resuming his work in Nollywood, and his supporters have many comments.
The actor and Lagos lawmaker was recently photographed on a film set alongside fellow actor Ibrahim Chatta, showing his return to acting after a difficult political defeat.
Elliot lost the All Progressives Congress ticket to contest a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly earlier this year. His opponent, Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, beat him in the primary for Surulere Constituency I, effectively ending his attempt to re-enter the legislature.
In the circulating photos, Elliot and Chatta are standing close, apparently talking with a third person whose face is not visible.
What attracted most attention was Elliot’s appearance: he had his hair styled in cornrows decorated with cowries, suggesting a traditional or period-themed role.
The images sparked immediate reactions on social media, with many Nigerians hailing this audacious move.
