Emir of Zuru passes on in London hospital


Kebbi State government has confirmed the passing on of the Emir of Zuru in Kebbi State, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Sani Sami (rtd).
The traditional leader was said to have died on Saturday night at 81 years.
Kebbi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar-Dutsinmari, said in a statement issued to reporters that the monarch died after an illness.
The former Army General is survived by four wives and seven children.
“The Kebbi State Government is using this medium to extend its heartfelt condolences to his immediate family members, Zuru Emirate Council, Zuru people, and the entire people of Kebbi State.
“May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.”
The statement said that burial arrangements for the late Emir would be made available in due course.
