#EndBadGovernance protests: Military vows to deal with hoodlums, looters
The Nigerian army on Friday, vowed to deal with hoodlums taking advantage of the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests to loot properties.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, said this at a press conference in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja on the second day of the demonstrations against economic hardship and high cost of living.
Musa said the extent of destruction experienced on the first day of the protests was “crazy”.
He said the armed forces will take action and will not allow the looting and destruction to continue.
The defence chief said the Bola Tinubu administration has been in power for one year and the government has been doing its best to boost economic activities.
The CDS stated that the economic crisis and high cost of living in Nigeria is a global phenomenon and urged Nigerians to give the government time to address the challenges.
