Falz Denies Bobrisky Claims, Demands Retraction

Popular Nigerian rapper Falz has vehemently denied claims made by social media personality Bobrisky that he sought a presidential pardon for the controversial figure. In a statement released through his father’s law firm, Falz accused Bobrisky of making false and defamatory allegations.

The controversy erupted after social activist VeryDarkMan released an audio recording in which Bobrisky claimed to have spoken with Falz in prison and that the rapper and his father, renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana, had attempted to secure a presidential pardon for him.

Falz, however, categorically denied these claims, stating that Bobrisky had reached out to him in May 2023 seeking a financial favor. According to Falz, Bobrisky requested N3 million to secure a VIP section in prison, a request that he immediately rejected. Falz emphasized that he did not provide Bobrisky with any money and strongly disapproved of his actions.

The rapper’s statement expressed deep disappointment with VeryDarkMan’s post, which he described as offensive and derogatory. Falz accused VDM of portraying him as a homosexual and one to pervert the course of justice for financial gains. He also criticized VDM for publishing the audio clip without first reaching out to him for his side of the story.

Through his lawyers, Falz has demanded that VeryDarkMan immediately retract the defamatory publication and issue a public apology on all platforms where it was disseminated. The statement warned that failure to comply within 24 hours would result in legal action, including the pursuit of monetary damages.

The controversy has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many expressing concern over the nature of the allegations and the potential implications for Falz’s reputation.
