Female suicide bombers kill seven wedding guests in Borno, injure 16
Seven persons returning from a wedding ceremony have been killed in at Marrarraban Gwoza area of Borno State, after an attack by two suspected female suicide bombers.
According to TheCable, Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, reported that many of the victims were returning from a wedding ceremony when the first suicide bomber detonated her explosive near a motor park.
Makama said the suicide bomber who was identified as a lady, was in her early 20s. The newspaper added that the injured were taken to the hospital in Gwoza.
Also, another bomber, disguised as a mourner, reportedly detonated an explosive in Gwoza Local Government Area of the state, as residents were preparing for the burial of those killed in the first attack.
According to the publication, one person reportedly died and 16 others were injured during the attack.
It further said Yusuf Lawal, the Commissioner of Police in Borno, confirmed the incident.
The military has imposed a curfew in Gwoza Local Government Area, to enable them to secure the town from any further threat.
