Fire razes Defence Headquarters in Federal Capital Territory
Firefighters contain fire outbreak
The second floor of the Defence Headquarters in Abuja has been razed by inferno.
The cause of the inferno, which happened on Monday was not yet known as at the time of filing this report.
Confirming the unfortunate incident, Director, Defence Information, Major General Jimmy Akpor, told reporters that the situation was contained by the combined efforts of the military and Federal Fire Service personnel.
He added that all personnel and civilian staff were also evacuated without injury or loss of life.
“Accordingly, normalcy has returned. Investigation to determine the cause of the fire incident has commenced.
“We thank the Federal Fire Service and the entire public for the continued support and goodwill to the Armed Forces of Nigeria,” added Akpor
