First Lady Oluremi Tinubu partners with UNICEF to enhance birth registration efforts.
She made these remarks at the official launch of the UNICEF/RHI Commemorative Birth Certificate at the State House in Abuja.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu highlighted that the renewed effort to register every live birth will help the nation meet Sustainable Development Goal 16.
This initiative, in collaboration with UNICEF, aims to offer free digital birth registration and certification for newborns, addressing gaps that compromise children’s legal identities.
Tinubu urged parents to register their children, emphasizing that the certificate is essential for accessing healthcare and education.
The First Lady also announced a commemorative birth certificate for 2024, available from August 29 to December 31, 2024, which supports the integration of the National Identification Number at birth.
