Flying Eagles in Under 20 AFCON ‘Group of Death’

The Flying Eagles are in for a gigantic challenge after being drawn in the ‘Group of Death ‘ of the 2025 U20 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Nigerian junior team will continue their rivalry with South Africa after both countries were drawn in the same group of the tournament .
Seeded Flying Eagles head Group B to also draw North African opposition Egypt and Morocco in the draw.
Egypt won the U20 AFCON five times, while both South Africa and Morocco have been regulars in this competition.
Hosts Cote d’Ivoire lead Group A along with Ghana, DR Congo, Tanzania and UNIFAC 2, while Group C headed by defending champions Senegal has Zambia, Kenya and Sierra Leone.
The top two teams from each group with qualify for the quarterfinals along with two third-best finishers.
The semifinalists will qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile in September.
The Under 20 AFCON will be held from 26th April to May 18.
