Govs, senators, reps members, ministers fleeing Nigeria over protest – Fayose
Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, has claimed that prominent politicians are leaving the country in droves over the planned nationwide protests.
Youths in the country have vowed to take to the streets, to demonstrate over the unbearable cost of living, inflation and insecurity in the country, despite persuasions by the Federal Government and security agencies.
In a video posted to social media, Fayose, who has been critical of the administration of President Bola Tinubu, over the state of the nation’s economy, criticized the mass departure of governors, senators, and other high-ranking government officials.
He claimed that their abrupt travel plans are a direct response to the impending demonstrations.
“House of Representatives members, senators, governors, and ministers are all traveling abroad suddenly because of the protest,” Fayose stated in the video.
Fayose’s remarks have further fueled public frustration, as many Nigerians perceive the politicians’ actions as an attempt to evade accountability.
The situation at the airport has reportedly been chaotic, with increased activity as officials hastily make their way out of the country.
