Rising musician, Iyi Innocent Diamond, better known as Acedrich, has opened up about his journey into the music industry and his thoughts on achieving fame in Nigeria.
In a recent interview while promoting his latest single, “Better Days”, Acedrich revealed that staying relevant is crucial for aspiring stars.
“People need to see you constantly, whether it’s through your music or something else you’re good at. I prefer to stay out of trouble, but if controversy arises, I won’t shy away from it,” he added.
The Edo-born singer disclosed that he has been involved in music for seven years, starting as a dancer in a group before pursuing a solo career.
Acedrich’s debut song, “Figure 8”, was released in 2015 or 2016 while he was still a student. The song gained significant recognition in Benin City. Since then, he has released three songs, including his most recent single, “Better Days”.
Acedrich currently describes his music as Afrofusion with a blend of highlife. He also revealed plans to release a six-track EP in September.
“The response to my music so far has been very positive,” Acedrich said. “I write my songs, drawing inspiration from the world around me.”
