Nollywood actress, filmmaker and entrepreneur Bolaji Ogunmola has stated that while physical attraction may spark initial interest, kindness remains the most vital quality she seeks in a life partner.
Speaking in a recent interview, the versatile actress, who continues to earn acclaim for her performances on screen, said, “One quality I find attractive in a man is kindness. It influences the way a person treats others, handles challenges, and navigates relationships. It is a trait that often reveals strength, empathy, and emotional maturity. Physical appearance might catch your attention at first, but character is what sustains meaningful connections over time. A kind person creates a sense of comfort and security, and those qualities are invaluable.”
In response to the often-discussed challenges women in Nollywood face in maintaining healthy relationships, Ogunmola dismissed the notion that genuine love is hard to find.
Rather than blaming career demands, she emphasised that successful relationships are built on patience, commitment, understanding, and mutual effort. “I do not believe in the idea that meaningful relationships are impossible to find. Every relationship is unique, and there is no single formula for success,” she said.
The actress maintained that finding a compatible partner whose values align with one’s own is more important than societal assumptions about relationships. She added that mutual respect, effective communication, and genuine care remain the foundations of every lasting union, expressing confidence that everyone has the opportunity to find the right partner.
Reflecting on her career, Ogunmola said she no longer finds many roles intimidating, explaining that she now enjoys pushing herself beyond her comfort zone by taking on diverse, demanding roles. “At this point in my career, I do not think there are many roles that intimidate me. I enjoy challenging myself and exploring different characters,” she said.
