The Lagos State Government has directed all trailers and tankers to stop the indiscriminate parking around the Cele bus stop towards Tin Can Port axis.
According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, said the development followed the need to resolve the present congestion on the roads in the areas.
The statement said the directive underscored the commitment of the Lagos state government to make sure that there is a smooth flow of traffic and reduce disruptions fueled by the consistent presence of these heavy-duty vehicles in the specified location.
Giwa noted that the directive is geared to promote the general movement experience for residents and commuters in the area affected.
Giwa stressed the value of a free and unobstructed road network, imploring tanker and trailer drivers to abide with this order or be fined in line with the Lagos State Transport Reform Law.
