Lagos LG Elections: Oba Ayangbure endorses Apansile, Mathew, other APC candidates for Ikorodu North
As the clock keeps ticking towards the July 12, 2025, Local Government Elections in Lagos State, Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, has given his royal blessings to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship and Councilorship candidates in Ikorodu North LCDA.
The endorsement came during a courtesy visit by the campaign team led by the APC Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Ameen Olawale Ibrahim Apanishile, and his running mate, Hon. Mathew Aliu Adesanya, to the Ayangburen’s Palace. The reason of the visit was to seek royal blessings and strengthen engagement with traditional leadership as the campaign intensifies.
During the meeting, the Director-General of the APA-MATH Campaign Organization, Hon. Wale Olowolagba stressed he importance of aligning with the traditional institution and formally introduced the Chairmanship, Vice Chairmanship, and Councilorship candidates to the royal father.
In his remarks, Oba Kabir Shotobi preached peace, unity, and forgiveness, offering heartfelt prayers for the success of the candidates. He expressed admiration for the team’s commitment and urged residents of Ikorodu North to turn out in large numbers during the election to attract more democratic dividends to the area. The monarch, known for his unwavering support for democratic processes, gave his full royal blessing and moral support, charging the candidates to uphold integrity, fairness, and people-centered leadership.
In a related development, the Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN), a subsidiary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ikorodu Chapter has also endorses all the APC candidates in Ikorodu North.
TOOAN, led by Branch Chairman Alhaji Muritala Abana, also pledged full support for the APC candidates, citing their dedication to community development, infrastructural improvement, and inclusive governance.
In response, the Director-General, Hon.Wale Olowolagba, expressed deep appreciation for both endorsements, describing them as a reflection of growing confidence in the APC’s grassroots-based vision and leadership.
In his remarks, the APC Chairmanship candidate Hon.Apanishile expressed gratitude to the royal father and his chiefs for the warm reception and promised to continue to engage the royal father to seek guidance and support.
Important personalities at the two events were Hon Adekoya Leader of the House, Ikorodu North Legislative Council, Hon.Niran Wake-Up Deputy Leader, Hon.Bola Daramola, Hon.Bilikis Aderoju, Hon.Aro Balogun, Hon.Sulaimon Adewusi, Hon.Basirat Babatunde née Adewumi, Hon.Ambali Olutusi, Hon.Shoaga, Hon.Kehinde Babayemisi and other APC Ward Chairmen across Ikorodu North.
