Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, working alongside members of a local vigilante group, have arrested two suspected armed robbers during a routine crime prevention patrol in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu. The operation led to the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size Dane gun and three live cartridges, as security authorities intensified efforts to curb violent crime across the state.

Police said the suspects were intercepted after exhibiting suspicious movements during the patrol. A search conducted on them uncovered the firearm and ammunition, prompting their immediate arrest. The command noted that the operation formed part of its ongoing strategy to strengthen community policing and prevent criminal attacks through intelligence-led patrols in identified flashpoints.

According to the police, preliminary investigations are underway to determine whether the suspects are linked to previous robbery incidents or belong to a wider criminal network operating within the area.
