Renowned Nigerian actress and red-carpet host Uche Ogbodo has asserted that her marital status does not restrict her acting roles.
Despite being married to her younger husband, Bobby Marris, and being a mother of three, Ogbodo continues to embrace romantic and kissing scenes in her films.
In a recent chat, she said, “I still shoot romance and kisses movies but modulated. I don’t do that with reckless abandon. Although my husband is the jealous type, he understands. He is an actor too. He knows it’s not real. Just a little peck here and there, not French kissing. I don’t do more than that. Some people presumed that I took a break from acting after my marriage, but that is not true. I have 3 kids now, I’m not as free for every job as I used to be in the past. Aside from family, I’m equally running different businesses. It’s not easy, I’m only one person.”
Ogbodo, who recently fell victim to shop burglary, also lamented the huge loss the ugly incident had cost her.
She revealed that the incident is the latest in a string of setbacks for her business, citing losses of almost N50 million within the last year.
“It was a huge Blow to Body Gang Society Boutique. I honestly don’t like to reflect and think of the loss because I just barely started, and to have lost up to N50 million in a single year is devastating. My 2 shops were demolished by Lagos state govt, one destroyed by Flood. And now Theft. All these losses for a new business aren’t easy. But I’m hoping for God to see me through. The case is in court now, I am I’m hoping the security company pays me back,” she bemoaned.
