Naija Prime will curb cybercrime, encourage productive use of talents – Martins Osufia
A revolutionary new platform called Naija Prime is set to launch on October 1st, promising to transform the Nigerian creative sector, particularly the powerhouse film industry known as Nollywood.
Chukwuemeka Martins Osuofia, the brain behind Naija Prime, is passionate about creating a space for Nigerian content to thrive. “We need a platform built by Nigerians, for Nigerians. Why wait for others to invest in us when we can invest in ourselves? We are combining the best of YouTube and Netflix. Naija Prime offers a one-stop shop for Nigerian entertainment. Users can access the platform through the website Naijaprime.ng and enjoy a vast library of content, from full-length movies to hilarious skits and short films.”
Osuofia’s ambitions, however, extend beyond just entertainment. “We want to give Nollywood the recognition it deserves. Our past heroes and pioneers paved the way, and Naija Prime will ensure their legacy lives on. We are offering a legitimate way for young Nigerians to generate daily and also help curb cybercrime and encourage productive use of talents,” he stated.
On the types of content accepted, Osuofia noted, “Full movies, short ones, skits can be uploaded. If content does not meet our standards, we will have to decline it. ”
Looking to the future, Osuofia shared, “By 2025, we should have one or two effective international film companies in Nigeria collaborating with Nollywood to break new grounds.”
