Nigerian billionaire, Otedola, gifts parents of quadruplets N5m, offers scholarship to infants

Femi Otedola Foundation (FOF) has gifted N5 million to the family of Sodiq Olayode, whose wife was recently delivered of a set of quadruplets.

After the birth of the quadruplets, Abiodun, the mother of the babies, had in an interview with TheCable, pleaded with Nigeria’s first lady, Remi Tinubu, to come to the aid of the family.

“I hope that the first lady (Remi Tinubu) will see this and come to my aid and come and support my family in any way they can. I hope my children will get scholarships,” she said.

“I kept on saying education is paramount to me. As I said, I am an outsourced staff at Sterling. I planned for one. But here we are having four. The first lady, I hope you are seeing this. Please come to my aid.”

It was gathered that an X user identified simply as James, known to be Sodiq’s friend, revealed that the family needed financial assistance to care for their quadruplets.

The post quickly gained attention online, with several users donating over N14 million to support the couple.

As a result, the foundation set up by Nigerian billionaire, Otedola, on Monday, presented a cheque of N5 million to the family of eight.

The cheque was presented by Philip Akinola on behalf of the foundation.

Otedola, who is known for giving to needy individuals, coordinated groups, and social causes, decided to intervene after reading the story of the Olayodes in the online newspaper.
