Nigerian stand up comedy gradually getting to global audience – I Go Save

In spite the immense growth recorded in Nigeria’s entertainment industry so far, one of Africa’s funniest comedians, I Go Save, believes practitioners have not scratched the surface yet.
I Go Save born Otagware Onojiayeke says the target is for Nigerian comedians to perform before large capacity venues before international audiences.
The Warri-born humorist cum actor said that the dream of every comedian is to perform before a widely diverse audience and drive home his culture through comedy.
I Go Save, who has had a busy year with sold out tours in 16 cities in North America (Canada and USA), London and Dublin, said there is still grounds to cover.
He said the just concluded tours saw him perform in Montreal, Toronto, Windsor, Halifax, Ottawa, Vancouver, Regina, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winipeg, Brandon, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Dallas, Maryland, Dublin and London.
The humour merchant further revealed that the experience gathered so far in entertaining diverse audiences across the globe is propelling him for his next big project.
According to him; “the African continent already know and regard us as brothers, but we may need to take a step further to bring our culture before a whole new international audience in record breaking attendance shows”. “For me, it will be a dream come true to perform before an all-white audience in their hundreds and see them understand my jokes and ask for more”. “Don’t get me wrong, we have performed before an audience with diverse cultural heritage, but the goal this time is to be the only black guy in a 100000 capacity venue with the people enjoying every moment”.
