Osborn Umahi Endorses Tinubu’s Re-Election Bid at Ebonyi Solidarity Rally

Ebonyi State politician and entrepreneur Osborn Nweze Umahi has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, aligning himself with the federal administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
The declaration was made during a solidarity rally at the PA Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, which drew political leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across the state to demonstrate backing for the President’s economic and developmental vision.
The event, led by Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, was described by Umahi as a definitive statement of the state’s political direction.
“The people of Ebonyi State, led by Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, gathered in solidarity at PA Ngele Oruta Township Stadium to declare unwavering support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” Umahi said. “Ebonyi chooses unity, progress, and prosperity. We are for Renewed Hope and fully in support of the Ebonyi for PBAT movement.”
The high-profile endorsement coincides with Umahi’s rising prominence within the state’s political landscape. At 28, he has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the upcoming Ohaozara Local Government chairmanship election.
A trained civil engineer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Umahi has previously focused his career in the private sector, heading Tyneside Oil & Gas and managing investments across the energy, infrastructure, and hospitality industries.
Addressing his transition into public service, Umahi framed his candidacy as a direct response to community demands for administrative reform.
“My entry into politics wasn’t just a personal choice; it was an answer to a collective call from a community that wants to see modern, proactive governance,” Umahi stated.
Political analysts suggest that Umahi’s candidacy reflects a growing trend of young, corporate-trained professionals transitioning into public office to apply private-sector management to local administration. Observers note that his background could introduce distinct approaches to resource management, job creation, and infrastructure development at the local government level.
While the Umahi name carries significant political weight in Ebonyi State, campaign associates emphasize that his platform is built upon his independent corporate track record and established local philanthropic initiatives, which include educational funding and community empowerment schemes.
As the local government elections approach, political attention remains fixed on Ohaozara, where Umahi’s campaign is being closely watched as a test case for a new generation of corporate-minded leadership in grassroots Nigerian governance.
