Patrick Doyle knocks Davido for saying Nigeria economy is in shambles
Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has criticized superstar Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, for claiming that Nigeria’s economy is in shambles.
During a recent interview, Davido, the artist behind the hit song “Unavailable,” advised Black Americans against relocating to Nigeria due to the country’s current economic challenges.
This statement came amid speculation that some Black Americans might be considering leaving the United States following Donald Trump’s recent electoral victory, as they are concerned about potential policies that could negatively impact them.
In his appearance on The Big Homies House podcast, Davido addressed the significant issues facing Nigeria, stating, “It is not cool back home. The economy is in shambles.”
In response to Davido’s comments, actor Patrick Doyle labeled the singer as “incredibly dense” for discouraging foreigners from visiting a country where his father has a $2 billion investment in power generation.
Doyle remarked, “You have to be incredibly dense to ask foreigners not to visit a country where your father has a $2 billion dollar power generation investment. Some people ought to know better.”
