PDP’s biggest mistake was not picking Wike as Atiku’s running mate – Omokri

A former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has said the biggest mistake made by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, during the 2023 presidential election was the failure to make the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, the vice presidential candidate.

Omokri stated that Wike would have guaranteed victory for the main opposition PDP in the presidential election by winning Oyo, Abia, Rivers, Enugu, and Benue states.

TMY Newspapers recalls that President Bola Tinubu defeated PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party’s Peter Obi to emerge as the winner of the presidential election.

In a social media post on X,  Omokri said,  “The biggest mistake we made in the PDP during the #NigerianElections2023 was not giving Wike the vice presidential slot of our party. By how many votes did we lose to the APC?

“Less than two million. If we had a running mate like Wike, we would have gotten that collectively from Rivers, Oyo, Abia, Enugu, and Benue with the G-5. In politics, you do not do what you like to do.

“You do what you have to do. Under normal circumstances, an alpha personality like Wike would be too assertive to be a follower. I would not even support it if all things were equal.”
