Police Arrest Suspected Drug Dealer, Recover Methylene Chloride in Bauchi
23-year-old man arrested with 64 bottles of substance locally known as ‘Suck and Die’

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old suspected drug dealer, Aliyu Suleman, and recovered 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride and 17 pieces of rubber solution from him. Suleman, a resident of Tudun Salmanu, was arrested during an intelligence-led operation in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi metropolis.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, operatives of the Vehicle Crime Response Unit intercepted Suleman at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25. A search conducted on the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of the 64 bottles containing Methylene Chloride, locally referred to as “Suck and Die,” alongside the rubber solutions.
Police said the recovered substances have been seized and registered as exhibits, while the suspect remains in custody and is cooperating with investigators. The command added that Suleman would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to intensify surveillance and operations against the distribution and abuse of harmful substances across the state. He also urged parents, guardians and community leaders to provide timely information that could assist security agencies in tackling drug-related activities.
