Police Kill 17 Bandits, Lose 10 Officers in Kebbi Gun Battle

Deadly clash leaves several security personnel injured as police battle armed attackers

The Kebbi State Police Command said its operatives killed 17 suspected bandits during a gun battle in the state, while 10 police officers were also killed in the confrontation. The clash occurred as security personnel engaged armed attackers in an operation aimed at preventing further criminal activities in the area.

 

 

According to the police, the security forces came under attack while responding to the activities of the suspected bandits. The ensuing exchange of gunfire lasted for some time before the attackers were overpowered, with 17 of them reportedly killed.

 

 

The police also suffered heavy casualties during the encounter, with 10 officers losing their lives. Other personnel were reportedly affected by the violence as the security forces worked to repel the attackers and protect surrounding communities.

 

 

The command said operations against the bandits would continue as efforts are made to restore security in affected areas. Authorities urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information on the activities of criminal groups.
