Rebellion Bags Six Nominations At The Toronto International Film Festival 2024
The festival is famous for celebrating African cinema and the global Nollywood industry.
In what could be described as a commendable achievement for the Nigerian film industry, the movie “Rebellion ” has garnered six nominations at the 2024 Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF).
The six nominations for Rebellion are
Best Film international 2024, Best Film Nollywood 2024, Best Producer 2024, Best Director Africa 2024, Best Actress African Film 2024 , Best Actor African Film 2024.
“These nominations highlight the film’s excellence across various aspects of filmmaking, from acting and directing to technical prowess.
Speaking on the nominations, the producer of the movie Bestman Nse Thompson who couldn’t hide his joy, he said it’s a great way to celebrate his hard work while looking forward to the main event.
He explained further that the movie is about The girl-child in Northern Nigeria that is typically weighed down by the triple tragedy of illiteracy, early marriage and the oppressive patriarchal system that gives no voice to the female.
“I started this project with a vision statement of talking about women deprivation. This project is dear to my heart, it was only but a dream.
“This movie thing we do it for the love of it and as I’m heading to the global stages, you can’t tell me nothing. Big love to the cast and crew who contributed in making this dream come to life,” I appreciates everyone.
