Tinubu urges Nigerians to shelve nationwide ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest
President Bola Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to abandon the planned nationwide ‘EndBadGovernance’ protest slated for August 1st to 5th.
Citizens have vowed to take to the streets to express their displeasure over the high cost of food, insecurity, inflation, petrol subsidy removal and unification of forex windows.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who briefed selected State House correspondents after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, said the President urged the protest organisers to shelve the plan and await the President’s response to their complaints.
“The issue of the planned protest, Mr President does not see any need for that. He’s asked them to shelve that plan. He’s asked them to await the government’s response to all their pleas,” the minister said.
