Trillbjm: Revolutionizing Africa’s Digital Landscape
He co-founded Zap Africa, a decentralized crypto exchange focused on secure and borderless access to digital assets

Have you ever wondered what it takes to revolutionize an entire industry at a remarkably young age? Meet Benjamin Oyemonlan, professionally known as Trillbjm, a Nigerian tech visionary who transformed from a Computer Science graduate of the University of Lagos into a pivotal figure in Africa’s digital revolution.
His journey is a masterclass in identifying opportunities, leveraging cutting-edge technology, and building an empire from the ground up.
Trillbjm’s ascent began not with a grand master plan, but with a keen eye for unmet needs. His early career as an IT consultant and software engineer, including a brief stint at Microsoft USA, laid a solid technical foundation. However, it was his transition into startup leadership that truly ignited his entrepreneurial fire.
The pivotal moment arrived in 2020 while he was serving as CTO of Patricia Technologies. It was there that he led the creation of Africa’s first Bitcoin-linked payment card.
“We saw a clear need to bridge the gap between cryptocurrency and everyday transactions,” Oyemonlan recalls. “It wasn’t just about building a product; it was about empowering people with greater financial flexibility.” This innovation not only earned him widespread recognition as the Youngest Blockchain CTO in Africa but also propelled him to the forefront of digital finance.
His success with the Bitcoin card wasn’t a fluke; it was a springboard. Recognizing the immense potential of the blockchain space, Trillbjm embarked on a series of ventures, each designed to address critical market gaps.
He co-founded Zap Africa, a decentralized crypto exchange focused on secure and borderless access to digital assets. “Security and accessibility are paramount in the crypto space,” he emphasizes. “We wanted to build a platform that truly serves the African user.”
Beyond crypto, Oyemonlan diversified his entrepreneurial pursuits. He launched Platnova, a digital finance platform offering multi-currency wallets and global payment solutions, born from his observation of the increasing demand for seamless cross-border transactions and lifestyle integration.
“Platnova is about making global financial services accessible and convenient for everyone, no matter where they are,” he explains.
Trillbjm’s impact isn’t solely confined to his own ventures. Through BJM MULTISERVICES, his consulting firm, he has become a crucial guide for over 50 startups, helping them navigate complex regulatory landscapes and strategize for international expansion.
“I believe in fostering an ecosystem,” he states. “By supporting other entrepreneurs, we collectively accelerate Africa’s digital transformation.”
His journey, marked by an Honorary Doctorate in Fintech & Leadership and the UK Global Talent Visa, is a testament to his philosophy: “Create your own opportunities.”
For aspiring entrepreneurs and tech innovators, Trillbjm’s story offers a compelling blueprint for how a solutions-first mindset, combined with an unwavering commitment to innovation, can lead to monumental success and a lasting global impact.
