Trump appoints Elon Musk to ‘efficiency’ role

US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Elon Musk to jointly lead a new "Department of Government Efficiency"
Musk will lead the body with Republican Vivek Ramaswamy - it's essentially an advisory role, writes our correspondent David Willis
Trump says the body will "dismantle government bureaucracy" and could be the "Manhattan Project of our time" - a reference to the top-secret effort to develop nuclear weapons during World War Tw
Trump has also picked Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host and Army veteran, to be defence secretary
