Ukraine allies hold talks to ‘pile pressure’ on Putin as Trump envoy lands in Russia


The UK and Germany are hosting talks with 50 counties on Ukraine, after Britain announces further military support for Kyiv
Meanwhile Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff has arrived in Russia, the Kremlin says – it’s not yet clear whether he’ll meet Vladimir Putin
It comes as Britain announces a further £450m of military support to Kyiv, as part of a wider package which includes additional funding from Norway
UK Defence Secretary John Healey says today’s meeting in Brussels is aimed at “piling pressure” on Putin
The gathering had traditionally been hosted by the US until Trump became president in January. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth will reportedly dial in virtually to today’s talks
