Woman collapses in Abuja as police fire teargas at #EndBadGovernance protesters

A woman collapsed on Friday, after police fired teargas at peaceful #EndBadGovernance at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Premium Times reports that the peaceful chanting inside a moving van when they were suddenly surrounded by armed policemen.

The police officers reportedly fired multiple rounds of teargas at the crowd.

Some of the demonstrators and journalists ended up in the drainage channel as they attempted to flee from the fumes.

According to the newspaper, some sustained injuries in the ensuing melee, after which a lady slumped.

Two protesters were said to have stayed back to call for help and she was taken to the hospital.

On Friday, organisers of the protest said it may go beyond the originally stipulated 10 days if the Federal Government fail to address their demands.

The protesters are demanding that politicians be put on minimum wage, return of fuel subsidy, adequate security, job creation, better life and electoral reforms.
