Anthropic’s Q2 Revenue Surges Past $11.5 Billion
The Claude maker’s preliminary second-quarter revenue jumped more than 14-fold from a year earlier, while the company also reported positive adjusted operating income as it prepares for a potential blockbuster IPO.

Anthropic has reported a dramatic acceleration in revenue, with preliminary second-quarter 2026 revenue exceeding $11.5 billion, according to documents seen by Bloomberg. That represents more than a 14-fold increase from the $787 million recorded during the same period a year earlier. The figure also marks a significant jump from the $4.73 billion Anthropic generated in the first quarter of 2026.
The company’s rapid growth has been driven largely by rising demand for Claude, particularly among businesses and software developers. Anthropic has gained traction with professionals using Claude for coding, research and other complex workplace tasks. By May, the company’s annualized revenue run rate had already surpassed $47 billion, demonstrating how quickly commercial adoption has expanded.
Another important development is that Anthropic reportedly achieved positive adjusted operating income during the quarter. Profitability has become increasingly important as AI companies spend enormous amounts on computing infrastructure, chips, data centers and model development. While positive adjusted operating income does not necessarily mean Anthropic is fully profitable under all accounting measures, it represents a significant milestone for a company operating at such a rapid growth rate.
The financial results arrive as Anthropic prepares for a potential IPO later in 2026. Investors are reportedly considering extremely ambitious valuations, potentially above $2 trillion, based partly on expectations that Anthropic’s revenue could reach $190 billion to $200 billion by 2028. Those forecasts remain forward-looking and would require the company to sustain extraordinary growth while managing the enormous costs associated with developing and operating advanced AI models.
Anthropic’s surge highlights how quickly the economics of generative AI are changing. Claude is increasingly being adopted as a business tool rather than simply a consumer chatbot, while AI companies are competing to turn rapid user growth into sustainable revenue. If Anthropic can maintain its momentum and improve profitability as it scales, its potential IPO could become one of the biggest events in the technology market—and an important test of how investors value the future of artificial intelligence.
