Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has said that his club are favourites to win for the La Liga title but warned that Real Madrid will not relent in their pursuit of the title till the end of the season.
Speaking in an interview with Marca, Alba, who is celebrating 18 years in Barcelona, seven in the academy and 11 in the first team, said “From experience I tell you that there is a lot left in the League, that Madrid will push hard until the end and it will be very difficult. It is a considerable distance, but we cannot relax. It is in our hands to win it.
“And this Sunday, even if it was with one more game, they could get eleven at Villarreal.
“It is not an easy place. He is a rival similar to us. They like to have the ball, they have good players and it will be a very difficult match. We always have a hard time there”,/added Alba
