The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has arrested four people over the alleged demolition of a classroom at Unguwa Uku Primary School in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State. The investigation followed a complaint from residents concerning the destruction of the school property. 

According to the commission’s chairman, Malam Saidu Yahaya, preliminary investigations indicated that the school’s head teacher allegedly worked with some members of the School-Based Management Committee and the Education Secretary of Tarauni Local Government Area to demolish the classroom.

The suspects are also accused of selling iron rods and roofing materials recovered from the demolished structure without obtaining approval from the relevant authorities. PCACC said the four suspects are currently assisting with the investigation.

The commission said the suspects would be arraigned in court after the investigation is concluded. Yahaya urged members of the public to report attempts to vandalise or illegally dispose of public and community assets to the appropriate authorities.
