Kidnapped Anambra commissioner, wife regain freedom

Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba, and his wife, have been freed from captivity after spending 24 hours with their captors.

The couple were reportedly kidnapped on Friday, while travelling for the wedding of the daughter of Charles Soludo, governor of Anambra.

The wedding was  slated for August 17, in Abuja.

Kpajie Offia, an aide to the commissioner, who was travelling with the couple, was said to have been killed during the attack.

TheCable revealed that Christian Aburime, Chief Press Secretary to Soludo, confirmed on Sunday, that the commissioner and his wife were released on Saturday night.

“Within 24 hours, we were able to get them out of the hands of kidnappers,” Aburime said.
