Lagos Police Raid Cult Hotspot, Arrest Suspect, Recover Pistol
24-year-old suspected Eiye member held as officers seize locally made firearm during operation

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man suspected to be a member of the Eiye Confraternityduring a raid on a suspected cult hotspot in the state. Police said the operation also led to the recovery of a locally made pistol from the suspect.
The suspect was taken into custody as operatives intensified efforts to disrupt cult-related activities and prevent violence in communities identified as hotspots. The command said the recovered firearm had been secured as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police are continuing to investigate the suspect’s alleged connection with the confraternity and are working to establish whether other individuals were involved. The command is also expected to pursue leads that could help identify and apprehend other members of the suspected cult group.
The arrest forms part of ongoing security operations by the Lagos police to tackle cultism and the possession of illegal firearms. Authorities have continued to urge residents to provide useful information that could assist efforts to prevent criminal activities and maintain public safety.
