Maureen Nwokobia, CEO of Maufire Aesthetic Clinic, slams stigmatization of Ozempic users
Maureen Nwokobia, a skincare expert and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Maufire Aesthetic Clinic, has condemned the undue criticism directed towards people who turn to Ozempic for weight loss.
Ozempic is a medicine for adults with type 2 diabetes that, along with diet and exercise, may improve blood sugar. While not for weight loss, Ozempic may help people lose some weight. Adults with type 2 diabetes taking Ozempic may shed up to 14 pounds.
In this 21st century in which body positivity and self-love are touted as ideals, people have resorted to stigamiting individuals who are making a conscious decision to invest in their well-being, just like those who choose to prioritize nutrition and exercise–a denunciation the Maufire Aesthetic Clinic Managing Director categorises as unhealthy.
“As the CEO of Maufire Aesthetic Clinic, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of Ozempic for weight loss. Yet, I’ve also seen the unfair stigma and hate directed towards those who choose this medication. It’s time to address the elephant in the room: this hate stems from envy,” the CEO of Maufire Aesthetic Clinic said.
“Let’s break down the stigma and support each other’s journeys towards self-improvement. At Maufire Aesthetic Clinic, we believe in empowering individuals to make informed choices about their health and beauty. Let’s celebrate progress, not tear each other down.
“But what’s truly inspiring is the courage of individuals (including myself) who have openly shared their Ozempic journeys. I remember being one of the first people in Nigeria to openly share my experience and journey using ozempic and strongly attributing it to my weightloss. By speaking out, we’ve helped break down the stigma and shed light on the medication’s benefits.. This vulnerability has created a ripple effect, encouraging others to do the same. We’ve seen it at Maufire Aesthetic Clinic – the power of open conversations and support has transformed lives.”
The CEO of Maufire Aesthetic Clinic founder, who alongside Dr. Cornelius Agoye, founder of Pharma Aesthetics London, has brought into Nigeria, NAD Infusions, a new breakthrough in anti-aging treatment that has been endorsed by A-list Hollywood celebrities and influencers, urged that credits be given to people who have taken the bold step of turning to Ozempic for weight loss. Maureen Nwokobia encouraged an open discussion, in order to “dismantle the stigma and empower individuals to make informed choices about their health and beauty. At Maufire Aesthetic Clinic, we’re committed to supporting your journey, every step of the way.”
