Police Rescue Three Kidnap Victims, Dislodge Bandits’ Hideout in Kaduna
Suspects flee with gunshot injuries as security operatives recover motorcycle used by kidnappers
The Kaduna State Police Command has rescued three kidnapped victims after security operatives dislodged a suspected bandits’ hideout in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state. The victims, including Alhaji Hamza Shuaibu Gimi, were rescued during an operation at Gidan Mijin Gwaggo, Durum, following credible intelligence on suspicious movements in the area.
The operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer of Makarfi Division in collaboration with local vigilantes. Police said the suspected kidnappers opened fire when they sighted the approaching security team, leading to a gun battle that forced the assailants to flee into nearby bushes with gunshot injuries.
A subsequent search of a house belonging to one Yakubu Sule reportedly revealed that the building was being used as a hideout for suspected bandits. The three victims were found inside and rescued unharmed, while a Boxer motorcycle allegedly used by the kidnappers was also recovered from the premises.
The victims have since been reunited with their families, while security operatives continue efforts to track and arrest the fleeing suspects. The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended the personnel and vigilantes involved in the operation and urged residents to remain vigilant and provide timely information to security agencies.
