The death of Mr. Olawoye Anthony Dawodu on May 15, 2022, ignited an acrimonious family feud with his widow, Mrs. Titilayo Rebecca Dawodu, being subjected to threats and intimidation from the family members of her late husband.
According to sources close to the family, the deceased's relatives have been making demands for Dawodu's properties and business documents, as well as insisting that his body be brought back home for burial rites. The family members have allegedly issued threatening words to Mrs. Dawodu, warning her that if she fails to comply with their demands, she should not return to Nigeria.
From a verified source, it’s said that with past matters between the family, the rift between her late husband and his family members had been ongoing for over two decades, with instances of confrontation that were life threatening for the Late Mr Dawodu and his family. "The family of late Olawoye Dawoduhas not been in good terms with Mr Olawoye for over 22 yrs before his death," sources stated
The concerns about her safety and her kids, is becoming more alarming. From another source "The husband's family members are asking her to provide her husband's properties documents and that of his business; in my opinion that’s not right," another verified source explained. "The family as been told that if I they refuse to give them what they want, then they should not step foot in Nigeria and this is absurd ."
Furthermore, More allegations from the late husband's family members, claiming that she was responsible for his death due to their past disagreements. "She killed our brother and has always made sure he turned his back against family, same way she made him support other political ambitions that caused a rift between them”
In light of these developments, Mrs dawodu has been asked by the family to bring his body back home for actual funeral rites and they demand for her to be back home with corpse. So, she would have to do all the traditional rights of the Yoruba culture to prove she didn’t kill her husband.
