Wiseman Daniel’s Ministry Gives Hope to Abuja’s Vulnerable

For years, socio-economic hardship has continued to weigh heavily on vulnerable residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), but a faith-based humanitarian initiative led by Wiseman Daniel is offering a measure of hope to some of them.
Daniel, founder and president of ELOHIM Global TV, is behind the Planting God’s Love for Greener Pasture outreach, an initiative that has evolved from a seasonal charity programme into a sustained intervention for orphans, widows, people living with disabilities and other less privileged residents.
The initiative received fresh attention during the recent yuletide season when its team embarked on a series of outreaches across Abuja and neighbouring communities.
One of the major beneficiaries was an institution for the visually impaired in the FCT, where the team donated household appliances, food items and educational scholarships.
Some of the beneficiaries, according to the ministry, remain on its scholarship programme.
The outreach also extended to more than four orphanages, where the team distributed more than 200 bags of rice, beverages, clothing, basic medications and educational materials.
Speaking during a Sunday service at the ELOHIM Global Auditorium on Kigoma Street, Wuse, Abuja, Daniel said the ministry’s humanitarian activities were driven by a desire to translate Christian faith into practical assistance.
“Touching the lives of people and impacting them positively is what we are born for, living for, and what we are going to die for. The kind of love we practice at ELOHIM Global Ministry sees beyond religion, sees beyond tradition, and sees beyond sentiment,” he said.
He urged Christians to look beyond church activities and consider the welfare of people in their communities, particularly during festive periods.
“How is your community doing? What have you done to symbolise what Jesus represents in your home and in your community?” he asked.
Daniel subsequently invited members of the disabled community in Abuja to attend a service at the ministry as special guests.
The invitation drew more than 100 visually impaired and physically challenged persons to the auditorium. In a gesture of hospitality, regular worshippers reportedly gave up their seats to accommodate the guests.
Addressing the gathering, Daniel said the ministry did not discriminate against people on the basis of their physical condition.
“Here we are at the Everlasting Light of Hope International Ministry, and today we invited our brothers and friends because they are human beings like us. Our faith does not discriminate; it believes in oneness, one purpose, one goal, love your neighbour as yourself,” he said.
The programme also featured material assistance for the beneficiaries.
The ministry distributed 150 bags of rice, tubers of yam, household soap and native wrappers, particularly for elderly beneficiaries. Each invited guest also received N10,000, a hot meal and, according to the ministry, assurances of continued educational support for younger beneficiaries.
For some of the beneficiaries, the intervention was an uncommon show of support.
Zailani Garba, chairman of Nasara People with Disability, thanked the ministry for the gesture.
“I appreciate this Elohim Global Ministry and the pastor of this church. The things that happened today, I have never seen them before. We are deeply grateful,” he said.
Similarly, Alhaji Idris, leader of the Nasara Physical People of Bwari Area Council, prayed for the ministry’s leadership and those who contributed to the programme.
“May God help him with what he likes, in Jesus’ name. Anyone who contributed to this, may God guard and help them,” he said.
Haruna Mohammed, secretary of the Blind Association of Bwari Area Council, said the support was particularly significant to members of the group who had lived in Abuja for decades.
“Some of us here have spent almost 25 to 75 years in Abuja, and we have not met anybody to give us this kind of contribution except this church. That is why we are very happy,” Mohammed said.
He added that living with a disability should not be interpreted as an inability to contribute to society.
“Disability is not an inability , it is just our condition, and it is not a permanent condition,” he said.
With its combination of immediate relief, educational assistance and other forms of support, the Planting God’s Love for Greener Pasture initiative is positioning itself as more than a seasonal charity programme.
For Daniel and his ministry, the message is simple: faith should not end at the pulpit. It should also be seen in the lives of people who need food, education, dignity and a helping hand.
